Mission Briefing:

Orders are as follows: Infiltrate Castle Wolfenstein and investigate increase in actvitiy from SS Paranormal Division. Gather any intelligence information you may find regarding said SS division and their activities in the area.

Kessler, your contact, is a member of a German resistance group called the Kreisau Circle. He has managed to partially infiltrate the SS Paranormal Division's temporary headquarters and has valuable information regarding their activities. Meet Kessler in the village near the archaeological dig site. He will have further information regarding your mission.

Remember: If you or Agent One are captured, escape at all costs. Standing Order #71 remains in effect: If you are placed in a compromising position where you might divulge information regarding your mission or the OSA, take your own life by ingesting your cyanide tablet. As always, the OSA will disavow any knowledge of your identity and mission if you are compromised.

Good luck.

The game opens with a cutscene set at the U.S. Office of Secret Actions. The year is 1943, and it appears the Nazis have been conducting research into advanced weapons, biological and chemical engineering, and now the occult.

Two agents -- Wesley and Blazskowitz (you) were in northern Germany investigating at Castle Wolfenstein...but were captured. Your superiors have decided to "play the waiting game" and see if you can escape before sending in reinforcements, and that's where you start the game.

You start in the dungeon with a knife, after getting the drop on one of the guards. Exit out the door and to the right, being sure to pick up the Luger pistol on the way. At the end of the long hall, take a right up the stairs.

At the top of the stairs, peek through the bars -- you'll see a scientist performing experiments on Agent Wesley. When you go through, he'll mistake you for an assistant. Go through, shoot the scientist, and head through the gate to the right and up the spiral staircase. (If you want, read the note above the sink, and flip the switch if you'd like to cause Wesley some more post-death trauma.)

At the top of the stairs, you'll run into a few guards. After you kill the first one, pick up his MP40 machinegun, as well as the spare on the left wall. Kill the remaining guards, and grab the health packs on the wall if necessary.

Continue on to the large square staircase. Take a look at the note on the wall at the bottom of the stairs, and make your way up. Exit the door, leading outside.

Make your way across the castle wall and through the next two doors. You'll meet a guard and another tight spiral staircase. If you go all the way down, you'll find some extra ammo behind a board marked "Munitions".

By this time, the alarms should be going off. Take the spiral staircase back upstairs until you see a door with a red light flashing above it. Go inside, kill the guards, and find the switch to turn off the alarm. You'll also find some health, ammo, and binoculars, which will help you locate a sniper across the way.

Go back out the way you came and continue up the spiral staircase to the roof. You should find it much easier to take the sniper out from up here. Shoot the plank in the floor, drop down into the room you just came from, and then climb out the window and across to the sniper's position, picking up his Mauser.

Continue to the right and enter the door -- you'll find a lone Nazi soldier in the room, but as you enter, gunfire will come from below and tear through the floor right in front of the door. Go into the room and head to the left, taking out the one soldier in the room. Peer over the holes in the floor, take out the three soliders, and drop down.

Pick up all the guns on the floor and continue through the door. (If you find yourself back in the courtyard, you've gone the wrong way.) You'll enter a long hallway with a lone Nazi, but once you kill him, more soldiers will rush to his aid from a door on the right. Don't charge ahead -- let the soldiers come to you before moving on.

Go through the path to the right and clean out both rooms. There is treasure in both these rooms, but you should be more interested in the hot meal on the table that will replenish your health.

Exit the doorway in the room to the left, and continue around the hallway. You can uncover some more treasure here, as well as a side room with another meal and machinegun ammo. If you want, you can also backtrack and revisit all the areas you missed (many of the areas overlap), or you can continue on to the end of the level.
